Kaduna State has emerged as the best-performing state in Primary Health Care (PHC), delivery in the northwest region, earning international recognition and a $500,000 cash prize.<\/p>\n
The award was presented to Deputy Governor Dr. Hadiza Balarabe during a gala organized by the Nigerian Governors\u2019 Forum at the Banquet Hall, Aso Villa, Abuja.<\/p>\n
The achievement underscores Governor Uba Sani\u2019s commitment to advancing the state’s healthcare sector.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis award is more than financial recognition; it reflects the dedication of our health team in improving healthcare services for residents,\u201d Dr. Balarabe remarked.<\/p>\n
She emphasized that the prize will be reinvested to further strengthen primary healthcare delivery in the state.<\/p>\n
The recognition is part of the PHC Leadership Challenge, an initiative launched in 2019 after the Seattle Declaration to encourage governors\u2019 dedication to robust primary healthcare systems.<\/p>\n
It is supported by the Nigerian Governors\u2019 Forum and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.<\/p>\n
