{"id":57772,"date":"2024-12-08T08:50:09","date_gmt":"2024-12-08T08:50:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/?p=57772"},"modified":"2024-12-08T08:50:09","modified_gmt":"2024-12-08T08:50:09","slug":"gombe-one-dead-two-injured-in-herdsmen-youths-conflict","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/2024\/12\/08\/gombe-one-dead-two-injured-in-herdsmen-youths-conflict\/","title":{"rendered":"Gombe: One Dead, Two Injured in Herdsmen-Youths Conflict"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>By Adenike Lawal<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A clash between herdsmen and local youths in Lano village, Yamaltu Deba Local Government Area of Gombe State, left one person dead and two injured on December 8, 2024.<\/p>\n<p>The incident was confirmed by Gombe State Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Buhari Abdullahi.<\/p>\n<p>The violence reportedly erupted when local youths blocked the Lano-Deba Road and attacked herdsmen passing through from Kuri village.<\/p>\n<p>The youths accused the herdsmen of stealing mobile phones from farmers and obstructing the transport of farm produce.<\/p>\n<p>The altercation escalated as five cows belonging to the herdsmen were killed.<\/p>\n<p>Despite police intervention, some youths pursued the herdsmen into nearby bushland, where a more intense clash ensued.<\/p>\n<p>Three individuals were injured by arrows during the confrontation and were rushed to General Hospital in Deba before being referred to the Federal Teaching Hospital in Gombe.
