The Kwara State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), announced on Monday that a 400-level student from Abubakar Audu University, Ayangba, Kogi State, was rescued after being abducted and found wandering naked in Ilorin, the state capital.<\/p>\n

The 19-year-old student, Fauziyah Muhammed, who is studying English Education, was reportedly kidnapped in Ayangba on Sunday morning, allegedly hypnotized, and then abandoned in Ilorin.<\/p>\n

The incident is believed to have occurred between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. that Sunday.<\/p>\n

Dr. Umar Muhammed, the NSCDC Kwara Commandant, told journalists in Ilorin that Fauziyah was discovered on Monday morning by residents of the Ajegunle-Isale community along Egbejila Road.<\/p>\n

The locals found her wandering naked and immediately alerted an NSCDC officer, who subsequently notified the command for further action.<\/p>\n

Dr. Muhammed shared that Fauziyah appeared disoriented and incoherent, likely due to the trauma she had experienced.<\/p>\n

He added, \u201cShe was found naked, but some Good Samaritans in the community clothed her. We have provided her with comfort and care and informed Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq of her condition.<\/p>\n

“The governor, showing compassion, has promised logistical support to facilitate her return to Kogi State,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

In a brief interview, Fauziyah recalled the little she could remember of her abduction.<\/p>\n

She said, \u201cOne of the books I was carrying fell. As I bent to pick it up, I lost consciousness.\u201d<\/p>\n

She expressed confusion about how she ended up in Ilorin, so far from Kogi State.<\/p>\n

The NSCDC confirmed that Fauziyah will be released to her family through her uncle, Mallam Salihu Aliu, who is authorized to act on their behalf.<\/p>\n
