{"id":57479,"date":"2024-12-02T13:33:31","date_gmt":"2024-12-02T13:33:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/?p=57479"},"modified":"2024-12-02T13:33:31","modified_gmt":"2024-12-02T13:33:31","slug":"davido-my-dad-taught-me-to-trust-god-unconditionally","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/2024\/12\/02\/davido-my-dad-taught-me-to-trust-god-unconditionally\/","title":{"rendered":"Davido: My Dad Taught Me to Trust God Unconditionally"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em><strong>By Jesusemen Oratokhai<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Nigerian music icon David Adedeji Adeleke, widely known as Davido, has opened up about how his father, Adedeji Adeleke, influenced his unwavering faith and resilience during life\u2019s trials.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking on the Rollingout Podcast, Davido reflected on his upbringing in a deeply religious home and the lessons his father instilled in him.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy dad is very successful, but he\u2019s also an elder in the church.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI grew up as a Seventh-day Adventist and even attended a Christian college,\u201d Davido shared.<\/p>\n<p>He admitted that he initially struggled to understand his father\u2019s steadfast trust in God, especially when faced with life\u2019s challenges.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI used to ask, \u2018Why do bad things happen to good people?\u2019 And my dad would say, \u2018You can\u2019t question God.\u2019 At the time, I didn\u2019t get it. I\u2019d think, \u2018What do you mean I can\u2019t question God?\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p>This perspective, however, began to resonate with Davido after enduring the heartbreaking loss of his son, Ifeanyi.<\/p>\n<p>Despite his grief, he soon experienced a series of blessings that transformed his outlook.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA year later, we had twins. I released the biggest album of my career, and I got my first Grammy nominations.<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s when it hit me\u2014sometimes you don\u2019t see the full picture until later,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n<p>Davido credits his father\u2019s teachings for helping him find strength in faith and resilience in the face of adversity.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPeople go through different struggles, but one thing I\u2019ve learned is that God always has your back,\u201d he said, offering words of encouragement to others facing tough times.<\/p>\n<p>Through his journey, Davido\u2019s story underscores the power of faith, family, and perseverance in overcoming life\u2019s challenges.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Jesusemen Oratokhai Nigerian music icon David Adedeji Adeleke, widely known as Davido, has opened up about how his father, Adedeji Adeleke, influenced his unwavering faith and resilience during life\u2019s trials.
