{"id":57456,"date":"2024-12-02T09:23:43","date_gmt":"2024-12-02T09:23:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/?p=57456"},"modified":"2024-12-02T09:23:43","modified_gmt":"2024-12-02T09:23:43","slug":"cng-conversion-ogun-state-trains-automotive-artisans-on-modern-techniques","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/2024\/12\/02\/cng-conversion-ogun-state-trains-automotive-artisans-on-modern-techniques\/","title":{"rendered":"CNG Conversion: Ogun State Trains Automotive Artisans on Modern Techniques"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><em>By Patrick Idowu<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Ogun State Government has launched a specialized training program for automotive artisans across its three senatorial districts, focusing on modern automotive mechatronics and Compressed Natural Gas (CNG), conversion techniques.<\/p>\n<p>In collaboration with the World Bank-funded Ogun State Economic Transformation Project (OGSTEP), the initiative aims to upgrade artisans&#8217; skills, fostering innovation and sustainability within the state&#8217;s automotive industry.<\/p>\n<p>The first phase of the program enrolled 40 participants from various mechanic clusters statewide.<\/p>\n<p>At a practical session in Abeokuta, OGSTEP Skills Sector Project Manager, Fatai Osunsanya, emphasized the program&#8217;s goal of modernizing traditional apprenticeship systems and enhancing technical knowledge.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe training covers critical areas, including auto-mechatronics, auto-electrical systems, CNG conversion, digital literacy, adult education, and health and safety practices,\u201d Osunsanya said.<\/p>\n<p>He highlighted that the CNG component includes designing and installing CNG fuel systems compliant with safety standards, providing an alternative to petrol-powered vehicles.<\/p>\n<p>Lead Facilitator, Osokoya Babatunde, clarified that the program aims to introduce CNG as a viable alternative, not to phase out petrol entirely.
