{"id":57131,"date":"2024-11-27T16:41:24","date_gmt":"2024-11-27T16:41:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/?p=57131"},"modified":"2024-11-27T16:41:24","modified_gmt":"2024-11-27T16:41:24","slug":"ogun-unveils-guidelines-for-cng-vehicle-conversion","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/2024\/11\/27\/ogun-unveils-guidelines-for-cng-vehicle-conversion\/","title":{"rendered":"Ogun Unveils Guidelines for CNG Vehicle Conversion"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>By Patrick Idowu<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In a bid to make transportation more affordable and accessible, the Ogun State Government has unveiled procedures for converting petrol-powered vehicles to Compressed Natural Gas (CNG)-powered engines.<\/p>\n<p>The state\u2019s Commissioner for Transportation, Olugbenga Dairo, revealed in a statement that the conversion process will take place in three stages.<\/p>\n<p>These include pre-inspection by the Vehicle Inspection Services, approval for computerized vehicle inspection, and the final conversion and certification by the on-site conversion manager.<\/p>\n<p>Currently, two conversion centers and three gas refilling stations are available in the state for the successful conversion of vehicles.<\/p>\n<p>The centers include Nigeria Gas Transport Solution Ltd, located at Ogun State Public Works Agency, Agbeloba, Abeokuta, and NEXT GEN LTD at 37, Olorunsogo, Abiola Way, Abeokuta.<\/p>\n<p>The refilling stations are Green Fuel on the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway, Obada; Gasco Marine, also on the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway, Obada; and Nipco Gas in Mowe\/Ibafo, Sagamu-Lagos Expressway.<\/p>\n<p>Dairo urged the public to contact the Director of Vehicle Inspection Services, Gboyega Ademehin, at the Ministry of Transportation for further clarifications.<\/p>\n<p>He also mentioned that locations for re-energizing E-Bike batteries at affordable prices, provided by Governor Dapo Abiodun&#8217;s administration, are available.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Patrick Idowu In a bid to make transportation more affordable and accessible, the Ogun State Government has unveiled procedures for converting petrol-powered vehicles to Compressed Natural Gas (CNG)-powered engines.
