The Dakata Juma\u2019at Mosque in Kano has fallen victim to yet another act of vandalism, sparking outrage within the community.<\/p>\n

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) apprehended two suspects in separate incidents, raising alarm over the increasing trend of theft targeting places of worship and public infrastructure in the region.<\/p>\n

Murtala Aliyu Muhd, a 35-year-old resident of Dawakin Dakata, was caught red-handed attempting to sell a stolen solar battery, crucial for powering the mosque’s lights and electrical needs.<\/p>\n

Muhd, who admitted to the theft, shockingly confessed to a prior crime, revealing he had stolen over \u20a6300,000 from the same mosque. \u201cI needed the money,\u201d he said, adding that he had hoped for a quick profit.<\/p>\n

In a related incident, 19-year-old Musbahu Sani from Darmanawa was arrested with stolen armoured cables, reportedly taken from an electricity transformer.<\/p>\n

These crimes have left the Dakata community deeply concerned about the security of their worship centers and critical public infrastructure.<\/p>\n
