Oleghe, a son of Igiode in Agenebode, Edo State, lived an exemplary life of fulfillment and devotion. His fatherly counsel and the countless lives he touched will never be forgotten.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;On behalf of the Government and people of Edo State, I extend my deepest sympathies to his family and the Catholic Church. May his soul find eternal rest,\u201d the governor prayed.<\/p>\n<p>Bishop Gabriel Dunia of the Auchi Diocese confirmed Monsignor Oleghe\u2019s passing in a statement, revealing that the priest died at 2:30 am on Sunday, November 24, 2024. He further announced that the funeral would be held on Wednesday, November 27, 2024.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWith gratitude to God for a life well-lived, we announce the passing of the Rt. Rev. Monsignor Thomas Oleghe, the oldest Catholic priest in Nigeria, at the age of 104,\u201d the Bishop said. \u201cMay his gentle soul rest in perfect peace.
