The National Sports Commission (NSC) has officially announced Enugu State as the host for the 23rd edition of the National Sports Festival.<\/p>\n
Enugu emerged victorious in a competitive bidding process and is now set to deliver a world-class sporting event.<\/p>\n
The National Sports Festival, a biennial multi-sport competition, brings together thousands of athletes from Nigeria’s 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory to promote sportsmanship, national unity, and sporting excellence.<\/p>\n
Before Enugu takes center stage, the 22nd edition will be held in Ogun State in January 2025. The Gateway State is preparing to host over 15,000 athletes, with activities already underway to ensure a successful Games.<\/p>\n
Hon. Bukola Olopade, the former chairman of the Local Organizing Committee and current NSC Director-General, confirmed that the Gateway Games will be a major event, and he reassured stakeholders of the NSC’s continued support to Ogun State for a premium tournament.<\/p>\n
With Enugu selected for the 23rd edition, the festival is poised to continue its legacy of excellence, inclusivity, and the discovery of new talent capable of representing Nigeria on the global stage.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
