FCT Minister, Barr. Ezenwo Nyesom Wike, on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, inspected ongoing road construction projects in the Bwari and Kwali Area Councils, expressing satisfaction with the pace and quality of work.<\/p>\n

The projects, which include the rehabilitation of the 5-kilometer Dutse\/Usuma Dam road, the War College\/Army Checkpoint upgrades, and major roads in Kwali, are set for completion by December 2024.<\/p>\n

Addressing journalists after the site visits, Wike praised the contractors for their commitment, noting that despite the challenges posed by this year\u2019s heavy rains, they were on track to meet the deadline.<\/p>\n

He assured that funding would be fully provided to ensure the timely completion of the roads, which are vital for improving agricultural activities and food security in rural FCT communities.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat amazes me is the length of these roads and their potential impact on these communities.<\/p>\n

\u201cThese projects will enhance the agricultural sector and contribute to food security in the nation\u2019s capital,\u201d Wike said.<\/p>\n

The Minister further emphasized the administration\u2019s commitment to rural development and expressed optimism that the ongoing efforts will leave a lasting positive impact on the FCT.<\/p>\n

Wike, who has regularly visited the construction sites to monitor progress firsthand, reiterated that the contractors had assured him that the roads would be completed as scheduled.<\/p>\n
