President Bola Ahmed Tinubu touched down in Rio de Janeiro in the early hours of Monday to join world leaders at the 2024 G20 Heads of State and Government Summit.<\/p>\n
This year’s gathering, themed “Building a Just World and a Sustainable Planet,” aims to address pressing global issues through economic, social, and environmental reforms.<\/p>\n
Welcomed by Ambassador Breno Costa of Brazil\u2019s Ministry of External Relations, President Tinubu’s arrival underscores Nigeria’s strategic engagement on the world stage.<\/p>\n
He is accompanied by key cabinet members, including Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yusuf Tuggar, Minister of Livestock Development, Idi Mukhtar Maiha, and Minister of Art, Tourism, Culture, and Creativity, Hannatu Musawa, signaling Nigeria\u2019s comprehensive approach to global collaboration.<\/p>\n
During the two-day summit hosted by Brazilian President Luiz In\u00e1cio Lula da Silva, Tinubu will participate in high-level discussions on sustainable development and the reform of global governance systems.<\/p>\n
On the sidelines, he is slated to hold bilateral meetings aimed at bolstering Nigeria\u2019s socio-economic reforms and attracting foreign investments.<\/p>\n
Tinubu\u2019s attendance follows a personal invitation from Brazil, delivered by Ambassador Carlos Areias in August.<\/p>\n
With representatives from the African Union, European Union, and 19 of the world\u2019s largest economies, the summit provides a crucial platform for addressing global challenges and advancing regional inclusion.<\/p>\n
