Determined to discourage and penalize misconduct, INEC promptly suspended the election in the nine Wards of Ogori\/Magongo LGA, namely Eni, Okibo, Okesi, Ileteju, Aiyeromi, Ugugu, Obinoyin, Obatgben, and Oturu.<\/p>\n
The Commission assured the public that investigations into incidents in other Local Government Areas are underway and that outcomes, along with the course of action, will be communicated within the next 24 hours. As part of the ongoing processes, INEC is diligently tracing the audit trail of personnel and materials to identify any complicity in undermining the electoral process. Stringent sanctions will be applied where deemed necessary.<\/p>\n
In a reassuring tone, INEC affirmed its commitment to protecting voters’ rights in Kogi State, asserting that their votes are secure, and their democratic choices will be honored.
