The Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC), Limited, through its subsidiary NNPC Gas Marketing Limited (NGML), has signed a significant Gas Sale and Purchase Agreement (GSPA), with Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals FZE, marking a pivotal boost to Nigeria\u2019s industrial sector.<\/p>\n
This deal, signed by NGML’s Managing Director, Barr. Justin Ezeala, and Aliko Dangote, CEO of Dangote Group, commits NNPC to supply 100 million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCF\/D) of natural gas to the Dangote Refinery in Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos, over the next decade.<\/p>\n
The agreement aims to provide the Dangote Refinery with a consistent gas supply for power generation and as feedstock, with 50MMSCF\/D as firm supply and an additional 50MMSCF\/D on an interruptible basis.<\/p>\n
This major development aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu\u2019s focus on leveraging Nigeria\u2019s gas resources to stimulate industrial growth and economic development.<\/p>\n
In a notable arrangement, the partnership has been structured with zero capital expenditure (CAPEX) outlay, making it a milestone in NGML\u2019s operations and an unprecedented model for gas distribution companies in Nigeria.<\/p>\n
NNPC Ltd. emphasized that this collaboration reflects its ongoing commitment to driving domestic gas use in key sectors, ensuring energy security, and enhancing operational success at the Dangote Refinery.<\/p>\n
