Thirteen students of Federal Government College (FGC), Enugu have been suspended by the Federal Ministry of Education following their alleged involvement in a bullying incident captured in a viral video.<\/p>\n
The six-week suspension, announced Wednesday in Abuja by the Ministry’s Spokesperson, Folashade Boriowo, underscores the government\u2019s commitment to safeguarding school environments.<\/p>\n
Minister of Education Dr. Tunji Alausa ordered the disciplinary measure after a video surfaced showing a group of students allegedly assaulting an SS1 day student.<\/p>\n
The footage, widely shared on social media, prompted the ministry to investigate the incident and address growing concerns over student welfare.<\/p>\n
In response to the report, the Ministry established a disciplinary committee to review the evidence and enforce appropriate action.<\/p>\n
All 13 students implicated are on a six-week suspension, pending further findings.<\/p>\n
Dr. Alausa emphasized the importance of a safe educational atmosphere, noting that the incident has spurred additional security measures on campus and a collaboration between school management and security agencies.<\/p>\n
