Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has approved the release of N1 billion for gratuity payments to state pensioners, furthering his commitment to addressing outstanding retiree benefits.<\/p>\n
Just last month, Oyebanji distributed N3.5 billion in gratuity checks to retirees as part of efforts to reduce the backlog of payments.<\/p>\n
In a statement on Thursday, Yinka Oyebode, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Media, shared that Oyebanji also authorized the payment of two months’ pension arrears to local government retirees.<\/p>\n
Oyebode added, \u201cAdditionally, Governor Oyebanji approved the payment of two months\u2019 outstanding subvention to Ekiti State University, Ado Ekiti, and one month\u2019s outstanding subvention each to Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital, Bamidele Olumilua University of Education, Science and Technology, and the College of Health Science and Technology, Ijero Ekiti.\u201d<\/p>\n
He also approved one month\u2019s overdue subvention for the state Judiciary. Oyebode noted that these payments demonstrate the governor’s commitment to fulfilling his promise to prioritize workers\u2019 welfare and clear entitlements left by previous administrations, as part of his administration\u2019s agenda for continuity and shared prosperity.<\/p>\n
