The Equatorial Guinean Government has suspended senior official Baltasar Engonga, Director-General of the National Financial Investigation Agency, following the leak of hundreds of explicit videos allegedly depicting him engaging in sexual acts with multiple women, including the wives of high-ranking officials.<\/p>\n
The scandal, widely regarded as one of the country\u2019s most significant in recent history, has shaken the administration, prompting swift disciplinary actions.<\/p>\n
Vice President Teodoro Mangue condemned the actions, warning that any official engaging in “sex practices at work” would face serious consequences for violating the national code of conduct.<\/p>\n
In response, the government announced the installation of surveillance cameras in ministries and judicial offices to deter \u201cindecent and illicit acts.\u201d<\/p>\n
The investigation into Engonga was initially tied to a fraud probe, leading ANIF officers to discover a trove of over 400 sex tapes on CDs during a search of his home and office. The footage allegedly includes encounters with prominent individuals, such as relatives of the President and wives of ministers, further igniting public outrage.<\/p>\n
