Former President Muhammadu Buhari visited Maiduguri, Borno State, on Tuesday to extend condolences and solidarity to those affected by recent devastating floods.<\/p>\n
Welcomed by Governor Babagana Zulum and other political leaders, Buhari met with the Shehu of Borno, Abubakar Ibn Umar Garba Al Amin El-Kanemi, to express sympathy for the lives lost and the extensive property damage caused by the disaster.<\/p>\n
According to his former media aide, Garba Shehu, Buhari’s visit was a personal gesture following his return from vacation.<\/p>\n
Shehu stated, \u201cFormer President Muhammadu Buhari just landed in Maiduguri, Borno State, into the warm embrace of Governor Babagana Zulum, Senator Ali Ndume, and other political and government leaders in the state.”<\/p>\n
He added, “The former president was away on vacation when the state suffered the recent devastating floods and is here to personally commiserate with the Shehu of Borno, the government, and the people of the state following the tragic incident.”<\/p>\n
