Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, has been released from the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) after denying allegations of a N15 million bribe to drop money laundering charges.<\/p>\n
The controversial social media personality refuted claims made in a viral audio recording, which alleged he paid EFCC officials to avoid prosecution.<\/p>\n
Bobrisky was detained on Thursday evening at Lagos\u2019s Murtala Muhammed International Airport while attempting to board a KLM flight to Amsterdam en route to London.<\/p>\n
He later informed his followers on social media about the detention, claiming he had sustained injuries during the process.<\/p>\n
Following his arrest, Bobrisky was taken to EFCC headquarters in Abuja for questioning regarding the alleged bribe.<\/p>\n
In an official statement, he denied any exchange of money or solicitation of a bribe by EFCC officials and challenged Martins Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan, who released the recording, to provide evidence of the allegations.<\/p>\n
EFCC spokesperson Dele Oyewale confirmed Bobrisky\u2019s release but declined further comment.<\/p>\n
