Registered Public Health Nurse at Kulende Primary Healthcare Centre, Zango, Ilorin, Habibat Basiru-Shittu revealed that the demand for Family Planning (FP), commodities has increased, resulting to out of stock.<\/p>\n
Mrs Basiru-Shittu told the News Agency of Nigeria in Ilorin on Wednesday that the high demand could be attributed to economic situation in the country.<\/p>\n
According to her, other factors include increased sensitisation on FP in the state.<\/p>\n
She said that the healthcare centre received more than 1000 people who required services and commodities since the beginning of 2024.<\/p>\n
She explained that in September alone, 151 people accessed FP services and commodities at the centre.<\/p>\n
The Registered Nurse, who is also a Midwife, said some men brought their wives to the health centre for family planning services, a change in the peoples\u2019 attitude to the child spacing option.<\/p>\n
Lateefa Abdulfatai who was seen at the healthcare centre to access FP services, said she has three children and she spaced everyone of them.<\/p>\n
On her part, Fatima Abdulwahab, a petty business owner who was also seen at the centre to access FP commodities, expressed satisfaction with the method she is using.<\/p>\n
She added that she has not recorded any side effects, and pledged to continue to use FP to space her children.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
