As the Ondo State gubernatorial election approaches, Abdullahi Ganduje, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has urged the electorate to support the ruling party, maintaining\u00a0that voting for APC would demonstrate respect for President Bola Tinubu, who hails from the region.<\/p>\n
Ganduje made these remarks on Monday during the inauguration of a 305-member national campaign council in Akure, ahead of the November 16 governorship election. He stressed the importance of synergy between the national and local campaign councils to secure victory.<\/p>\n
\u201cI now hand over the working instrument for this council to the chairman. This campaign council will work with the local campaign council, forming a strong synergy,\u201d Ganduje said.<\/p>\n
The Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, will lead the council as chairman, with Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi State and Governor Bassey Otu of Cross River as Deputy Chairmen. Senator Ovie Omo-Agege will serve as the committee’s secretary.<\/p>\n
Highlighting Tinubu’s ongoing reforms, Ganduje added, \u201cThe President is carrying out social and economic reforms for the benefit of the country. As Mr. President comes from this geopolitical zone, it is only right to show respect and appreciation by voting APC.”<\/p>\n
He further urged voters to mobilize support to ensure a fair and successful election, stating that, \u201cWe must create an enabling environment to make this election free and fair and to ensure we win.”<\/p>\n
