President Bola Tinubu has sworn in Dr. Abdullahi Usman Bello as the new Chairman of the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB). The ceremony took place ahead of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting, which was also chaired by the President.<\/p>\n
Dr. Bello pledged to tackle corruption through the Bureau, emphasizing the importance of integrity and accountability among public officials. He vowed to uphold the agency’s mandate, ensuring public servants act with integrity and avoid conflicts of interest.<\/p>\n
“I want to thank Mr. President for appointing me into this position,” Bello said. “I assure Mr. President and the people of Nigeria that I will do my best to tackle the huge task ahead.”<\/p>\n
Bello acknowledged corruption’s global nature but stressed the significance of strong systems to mitigate it. “We have the systems and institutions; we only need to deliver on our mandate.”<\/p>\n
Dr. Bello brings over 25 years of experience in consulting, banking, law enforcement, financial services, and academia to his new role. His appointment aims to maintain high standards of public morality in government business.<\/p>\n
