The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has confirmed the loss of five of its personnel in a road accident.<\/p>\n
In a statement issued by NAF spokesman, Air Commodore Olusola Akinboyewa, he said that the incident occurred on Tuesday along the Jos-Akwanga expressway.<\/p>\n
According to the statement, the personnel were on their way to Abuja to participate in a sporting event when their vehicle was involved in a head-on collision with an oncoming truck.<\/p>\n
The unfortunate accident claimed the lives of all five service members, casting a shadow over the Air Force community.<\/p>\n
\u201cNAF expressed deep condolences to the families of the deceased, acknowledging their service and dedication.\u201d<\/p>\n
The statement added that investigations into the cause of the accident are ongoing.<\/p>\n
It reads: \u201cThe Nigerian Air Force (NAF) deeply regrets to announce the loss of 5 of our gallant personnel who were involved in a tragic road traffic accident on 22 October 2024.<\/p>\n
\u201cConsequently, statutory administrative protocols applicable in circumstances as this have been activated by the NAF to provide comfort and succour to the bereaved\u2019s families.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe appeal to the public to respect the privacy of the victims\u2019 families during this difficult time and to refrain from sharing unverified details. May their souls rest in perfect peace.<\/p>\n
