Dr. Ogbonna Samuel Onyeisi, the Programme Manager of Enugu State Agricultural Development Programme (ENADEP), has been conferred the title of “Professor” by Reitaku University in Chiba, Japan. Dr. Onyeisi, a graduate of Temple University in Philadelphia, USA, received the approval from the Senate of Reitaku University on September 23, 2023.<\/p>\n
An alumnus of the National Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS) and former Publicity Secretary of the Alumni Association of the National Institute (AANI), Dr. Onyeisi has served as a Moraogy Instructor and Visiting Lecturer at the Hiroike Institute of Education, Japan, a subsidiary institution of Reitaku.<\/p>\n
Prof. Kaz Horiuchi, the Vice President of Student Affairs, conveyed the approval in a message to Dr. Onyeisi, stating, “Congratulations! It is my pleasure to announce that in the personnel meeting held on Thursday, 23rd September 2023, presided by President Mototaka Hiroike, Chairman of the Board of Reitaku University, your visiting professor status was unanimously approved.”<\/p>\n
Dr. Onyeisi, who spent many years in Japan, played a significant role in fostering Nigerian communities in the country. He founded the Enugu State Association, Japan, and the Nigerian Union, Japan. His diverse roles include serving as a Board of Trustee Member of the Nigerian Union, Japan; President of Nigerian in Diaspora (NIDO), Japan; Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Japan Chapter; and Founder and Chairman of Enugu State Association, Japan.<\/p>\n
As a part-time lecturer at Enugu State University of Science and Technology, Prof. Onyeisi is expected to leverage his new title to contribute further to the economic growth of Nigeria and the development of global society. He has authored a book titled “Policy and Strategy for Patriotism, Institutions, and Economic Development in Nigeria.”<\/p>\n
Expressing gratitude to the management of Reitaku University, Prof. Onyeisi pledged to utilize his new status to enhance economic and cultural relations between Nigeria and Japan. He emphasized the importance of patriotism for national development, urging Nigerian youth to avoid violence in elections, particularly in upcoming polls in Imo State, Kogi State, and Bayelsa State.
