The award was presented to Mrs. Rosemary Okorafor, a 49-year-old registered nurse from Karchi General Hospital, who excelled in patient care and nursing practice.<\/p>\n<p>The Daisy Award recognizes nurses demonstrating exceptional core values and excellence in patient care. Mrs. Okorafor, Assistant Director of Nursing, became the first Nigerian recipient of this international honor.<\/p>\n<p>The National Association of Nigerian Nurses in North America (NANNA) presented the award, ensuring strict adherence to selection guidelines. Representatives Dr. Emikia Iwu and Dr. Esther Oshunluyi expressed satisfaction with the chosen candidate.<\/p>\n<p>The Daisy Award aims to encourage and reward dedicated nurses, addressing the brain drain of Nigerian nurses seeking better opportunities abroad. Other nominees received the Daisy Foundation chest pin, acknowledging their commitment.<\/p>\n<p>The Daisy Award honors nurses providing compassionate, above-and-beyond care to patients and families.
