The Honourable Minister of Sports Development, Senator John Enoh has welcomed the Super Eagles back to Nigeria after their challenging experience in Libya where they went for a return Group D match for the AFCON 2025 qualifier.<\/p>\n

The Minister, who personally received the national team at the Abuja airport on behalf of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Bola Tinubu last night, told the Super Eagles players that they have gone through a near-death experience in Libya.<\/p>\n

Commending their resilience in the face of adversity, Enoh thanked the team for the show of maturity throughout the period.

\nAddressing the team, Enoh said, \u201cFor about 20 hours, you have gone through what I describe as a near-death experience. The entire country was vested in the situation.<\/p>\n

\u201cDespite the hardships you experienced in Libya, you stood strong and acted very maturely. On behalf of the President and the good people of Nigeria, I welcome you home as I express profound gratitude for the team\u2019s efforts on and off the field of play.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI reaffirm the government\u2019s commitment to keep supporting the national team as they continue their journey for the AFCON 2025 tournament. In this moment, more than anything else,your safety was our priority, and we are glad to see you complete,\u201d he further stated.<\/p>\n

Looking back on Team Nigeria performance where we have to borrow bike and some athletes were not even registered for some events but the Sports Minister is always quick to come out to defend the mistakes and give numerous excuses.
