Speaking on Monday in Abuja during the 30th anniversary of the Nigerian Economic Summit, Shettima defended the administration\u2019s economic strategies, emphasizing that some of the decisions, though difficult, were necessary to stabilize and improve the economy.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy heart and the heart of President Bola Tinubu go to the Nigerian people. We empathize with what the poor and the young are going through in the Nigerian nation, but we have no option,\u201d Shettima stated.<\/p>\n

He admitted that the government\u2019s policies might be unpopular but argued that such difficult measures are essential. \u201cSome of these decisions are unpopular, but the truth is most often the truth that men prefer not to hear,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
