Former Governor of Ekiti State, Peter Ayodele Fayose, has distanced himself from media reports suggesting his involvement in party leadership struggles within the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and the alleged suspension of prominent party figures, including former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and Governors Nyesom Wike and Seyi Makinde.<\/p>\n

In a public statement, Fayose clarified: “As of today, Ambassador Umar Damagum is the Chairman of the PDP, and I am not aspiring to be Chairman of the party.”<\/p>\n

He further urged the public to exercise caution when reading news involving his name, noting, “It is also important for the public to note that I’m not the only Fayose in Nigeria; there are many others. I am Peter Ayodele Fayose. As such, stories not clearly stating my name should be disregarded and treated as stories from any of the many other Fayoses in Nigeria.”<\/p>\n

Fayose emphasized that he remains uninvolved in internal party disputes, saying, “I’m not part of the drama in the party and will never be. I am also not interested in any political office, either appointed or elective.”<\/p>\n
