The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), confirmed this in a release signed by its Edo State Coordinator, Ben Ochie Franaces Ifeoma<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
She said that “the Batch C members should be rest assured that all their entitlements will be paid”<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Ifeoma was reacting to agitations that the Federal Government might have overruled the payment, which came as a response to the current high cost of commodities in the country.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Government had increased the monthly allowance of corps members to seventy seven thousand naira (N77, 000), on the heels of the newly approved minimum wage for Nigerian workers<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
The NYSC official stated that arrears of excess on the allowance would be paid as soon as NYSC management receive fund.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
” Once we receive funds from the Federal Government, NYSC will retroactively pay the corps members for the months they did not receive the updated allowance.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
She noted that the commitment comes as part of the government’s recent wage increase efforts, ensuring that corps members are compensated fairly.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Ifeoma however absorbed NYSC from payment for Corp members who engage in Adhoc services in the last Edo State governorship election, noting that their payment would be from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
“So we wish to inform the Corps members and the general public, particularly our stakeholders that payment for their participation as Adhoc staff in the last gubernatorial election in Edo State is solely the responsibility of INEC and not NYSC management, ” she stressed.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
