This leadership struggle follows recent meetings between Damagum’s camp and Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, and Ologungaba’s camp with Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State, who chairs the PDP Governors Forum. The governors expressed divergent views on the party’s leadership, with Makinde supporting Damagum and Mohammed calling for the acting national chairman to vacate the seat for the North-Central zone.<\/p>\n
The PDP’s Board of Trustees has weighed in, calling for a review of recent state congresses and insisting that the National Executive Committee meet on October 24 to address the crisis.
