SARA provides tailored resources, opportunities, and solutions to enable women to thrive personally and professionally.<\/p>\n<p>The 24-month program will cover 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, focusing on vocational skills and business management skills. Executive Director of Retail and Digital at Wema Bank, Tunde Mabawonku, expressed confidence in the program&#8217;s potential to empower women.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Nigeria&#8217;s evolving macroeconomic landscape requires intentional approaches to providing tailored solutions and opportunities to empower our people, especially women,&#8221; Mabawonku said. &#8220;We launched SARA to provide unique solutions tailored to women&#8217;s needs, beyond banking, and support them in maximizing their potential.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Mabawonku encouraged women willing to learn skills with income generation potential to register for the program, highlighting that grants are available. &#8220;Inclusion is deep-rooted in our values, and we&#8217;ve curated this program to benefit women of various ages from across the country.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Minister for Women Affairs, Uju Kennedy-Ohanenye, emphasized the importance of empowering women to address prevalent challenges faced due to gender inequality. &#8220;Partnering with the private sector ensures the sustainability of women empowerment initiatives,&#8221; she said.<\/p>\n<p>The MOWA x SARA Accelerator Programme was launched at a Memorandum of Understanding signing ceremony held on September 30, 2024, in Abuja.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Wema Bank has partnered with the Federal Ministry of Women Affairs to launch the MOWA x SARA Accelerator Programme, an initiative aimed at empowering 500,000 women across Nigeria with vocational and business management skills.
