The Plateau State Association, USA, Inc. (PSA-USA) has pledged to drive tech, business innovation, and education advancements in Plateau State. Following their 2024 Annual National Convention and Election, held from September 27th to 29th in Duluth, Georgia, the association’s general secretary, Nanjul Wuyep, expressed their commitment to collaborating with local and international stakeholders for sustainable economic growth.<\/p>\n
The convention, themed “Innovation for Economic Growth; Technology and Entrepreneurship in Plateau State,” brought together diaspora members, guests, and community leaders to discuss pressing issues and elect new leadership. Keynote speakers Dr. Jim Pam Wayas and Hon. Daniel Asama Ago shared insights on fostering economic growth through diaspora and local community engagement.<\/p>\n
Newly elected leaders include Dr. Barth Shepkong as president, Lady Gertrude Longwan as vice president, and Nanjul Wuyep as general secretary. The association aims to uphold its values, build on existing successes, and forge new paths for engagement and collaboration.<\/p>\n
The convention concluded with an award night honoring outstanding contributions, including Mama Cecilia Sheni’s Lifetime Achievement Award, Retji Dakum’s Young Entrepreneur of the Year, and Hon. Daniel Asama Ago’s Community Service Award. These awards reflect the Plateau diaspora’s excellence, dedication, and innovation in developing Plateau State.<\/p>\n
