Ortom made this assertion during the party\u2019s state congress held on Thursday in Makurdi.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking to a gathering of party members, Ortom noted the palpable enthusiasm and zeal displayed during the congress as clear indicators of the PDP\u2019s momentum to unseat the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC). &#8220;The energy we have seen here today shows that the PDP is ready to rise again and take its rightful place in Benue governance,&#8221; he stated. He emphasized the importance of unity among party members, urging them to come together as a cohesive unit to achieve their goal of regaining power.<\/p>\n<p>The Caretaker Committee Chairman of the PDP in Benue, Senator Napoleon Bali, echoed Ortom&#8217;s sentiments, asserting that the party was growing stronger in the state. Represented by the committee secretary, Mr. Osita Ogene, Bali highlighted his desire for a smooth and successful congress without any hitches. &#8220;We are committed to strengthening the party&#8217;s structure and ensuring a seamless process as we prepare for the next elections,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p>In a show of solidarity, Mr. David Amo, representing the Benue North-East Senatorial District, remarked on the impressive turnout at the congress. &#8220;The massive attendance is a testament to the fact that the PDP is very much alive and active in the state,&#8221; he declared.<\/p>\n<p>Similarly, Dr. Laha Dzever, who spoke on behalf of the Benue North-West Senatorial District, asserted the party&#8217;s determination to move forward and reclaim power from the APC in 2027. &#8220;We must work tirelessly and strategically to ensure that the PDP returns to leadership in Benue State,&#8221; Dzever urged loyalists, emphasizing the need for dedication and hard work.<\/p>\n<p>From the Benue South Senatorial District, Mr. Matthew Ire reinforced the PDP&#8217;s dominance in the region, stating, &#8220;There is no other party in our area apart from the PDP. We are united in our efforts to ensure that we take back the state.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The congress culminated in the election of new state working committee members, with Mr. Ezekiel Adaji appointed as Chairman, Mr. Azua Ashongo as Deputy Chairman, Mr. Daniel Nyikwagh as Secretary, and Mr. Trvzua Zuana among other key positions. In his acceptance speech, Adaji expressed gratitude to party members for entrusting him with the responsibility of leading the party.
