Taraba Governor Dr. Agbu Kefas swore in Josiah Kente as Special Adviser on Political Matters on Thursday, along with 16 newly appointed Permanent Secretaries, at a ceremony conducted in the Executive Chamber of Government House in Jalingo.<\/p>\n
Kefas spoke during the ceremony, emphasizing the value of ethics, professionalism, and dedication in public service.<\/p>\n
He urged the appointees to do their best for the state.<\/p>\n
Kefas reminded the appointees that their decisions and actions would have a long-term influence on the state’s people and that his government was committed to pushing the state forward.<\/p>\n
\u201cYou are the key drivers of our governance. The people of Taraba will feel the effects of your leadership through the decisions you make daily and how you conduct your responsibilities.<\/p>\n
\u201cAs you take up your roles, bear in mind that our administration is hinged on key priorities including good governance, service delivery, teamwork, and professionalism, and you must be exemplary in your conduct,\u201d he charged.<\/p>\n
Speaking on behalf of the appointees, Kente thanked the governor for the appointment and committed to preserve the trust put in them.<\/p>\n
Kente, a former speaker of the Taraba House of Assembly, stated that they will all serve with integrity and support the Governor’s inclusive governance agenda.<\/p>\n
The former speaker remarked, “Your Excellency, I am grateful for this opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to the growth of our political scene. I recognize the importance of this position, and I commit to serve with integrity, transparency, and diligence.<\/p>\n
