Manchester United icon Paul Scholes has cautioned against the hasty dismissal of manager Erik ten Hag, emphasizing the need for patience in the aftermath of the Red Devils’ 4-3 Champions League defeat.

Speaking candidly at the final whistle, Scholes acknowledged that while the pressure on Ten Hag might not be overwhelming, the statistics paint a concerning picture. Despite enduring a challenging season marked by injuries, the Dutch manager’s record of nine defeats in 17 matches is deemed unacceptable by many, including Scholes.

The former midfielder acknowledged the club’s history of managerial changes but cautioned against repeating that pattern. Scholes emphasized the importance of stability, stating that constant managerial upheavals could prove detrimental to the team’s long-term prospects.

Reflecting on the recent loss, Scholes recognized the team’s resilience but pointed out a lack of leadership on the field. He attributed some of the struggles to the challenging nature of playing away matches in European competitions. However, he expressed concern about the team’s tendency to collapse after conceding a goal, emphasizing the need to address this issue for sustained success.
