Google is working on a new feature that will allow Android users to share their live location directly from the operating system, eliminating the need for apps like Google Maps. This update is part of Google Play Services, enabling more seamless location sharing controls within Android\u2019s settings.<\/p>\n
The latest version of Google Play Services adds a new section under Settings labeled “Google Location Sharing.” With a simple toggle, users can easily turn their live location sharing on or off. Once activated, a link to the live location can be copied and shared with others, allowing them to track the user\u2019s whereabouts on Google Maps.<\/p>\n
To enhance privacy, Google has included a list of individuals who have access to the shared location right below the setting. Users can quickly review or revoke access to ensure that only the right people can track them. Android will also notify users when their live location is being shared, with a direct link to the Location Sharing settings for easy access.<\/p>\n
Google is rolling out this feature gradually, so not all Android users may have immediate access.
