{"id":50378,"date":"2024-09-30T19:05:44","date_gmt":"2024-09-30T19:05:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/?p=50378"},"modified":"2024-09-30T19:05:44","modified_gmt":"2024-09-30T19:05:44","slug":"ebonyi-airport-to-begin-flight-operations-in-november","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/2024\/09\/30\/ebonyi-airport-to-begin-flight-operations-in-november\/","title":{"rendered":"Ebonyi Airport to Begin Flight Operations in November"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Ebonyi State Government has announced that flight operations at the Chuba Okadigbo Airport, Onueke, are expected to begin in November.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The State Commissioner for Aviation, Mrs. Ngozi Obichukwu, shared this update while briefing Governor Francis Nwifuru during his inspection of the facility as part of activities to mark the state&#8217;s 28th anniversary.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Obichukwu stated that the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) had inspected the airport&#8217;s runway, which was the only aspect delaying flight operations. She noted that the 3.1-kilometer runway, which can accommodate five aircraft at a time, had been asphalted by the current administration.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The airport had initially commenced operations, but most aircraft could not cope with the runway due to the non-asphalting of the concrete basement used in its construction.
