The Governor of Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun, has announced that his administration will soon commence the disbursement of grants and facilities to 236 primary health centres (PHCs) across the state.<\/p>\n

Governor Abiodun made the announcement on Tuesday while addressing the National Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) during their 44th annual general meeting and scientific conference, held in Ogun State.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
He assured the gathering that these grants will enable the PHCs to meet the World Health Organization (WHO) standards. The governor highlighted that his administration has already renovated about 100 primary health centres, equipping them with solar energy, digital communication, and record-keeping systems for efficient patient management.<\/p>\n

“We have grants and facilities from multilateral organisations that we are going to begin to expend very soon, which will allow us to have a minimum of 236 primary health care centers built in line with the requirements of the World Health Organization,\u201d Abiodun stated.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
The governor also encouraged NARD to continue holding such meetings to share knowledge and ideas on improving healthcare delivery. He expressed his willingness to consider resolutions that could help advance the health sector.<\/p>\n

In his remarks, the outgoing NARD National President, Dr. Dele Abdullahi, noted that one of the significant challenges the association faces is the migration of doctors, both outside the country and within Nigeria. He urged Governor Abiodun to consider car and housing loans as incentives to help curb inter-state migration of doctors.<\/p>\n
