The Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobbi, conveyed the decision in a statement on Friday, emphasizing that only those on essential services, including accredited media, electoral officials, emergency responders, and ambulances, are exempt from the restriction.<\/p>\n

Additionally, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun has prohibited all security aides and escorts from accompanying VIPs to polling booths and collation centres. The statement highlighted the need to protect the integrity of the electoral process by ensuring that unauthorized security personnel and quasi-security outfits do not interfere.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe use of sirens by unauthorized vehicles is strictly forbidden to create a calm environment for voters,\u201d the statement added.<\/p>\n

The IGP also called for special provisions to accommodate individuals with disabilities, pregnant women, nursing mothers, the elderly, and those with mobility challenges at polling stations, ensuring accessibility in both urban and rural areas.<\/p>\n
