The move is part of a broader Big Tech effort to employ the technology for greater\u00a0automation.<\/p>\n<p>The retail giant says select U.S. sellers will gain access immediately, followed by a broader rollout across the U.S. Later this year, the feature will begin to arrive in more countries and in other languages besides English.<\/p>\n<p>The goal with Project Amelia, explains Amazon, is to offer sellers tools that can help them manage and grow their business.<\/p>\n<p>At launch, sellers will be able to retrieve information like sales data and customer traffic information, and be able to ask the assistant questions like \u201cHow is my business doing?\u201d In response, the AI will offer a summary of metrics, including recent sales, units sold, and website traffic, and compare those metrics to the same time last year.<\/p>\n<p>Sellers will also be able to ask follow-up questions, like those focused on a single product\u2019s sale, growth, and customer traffic, among other things.<\/p>\n<p>Later, the AI assistant will be able to help resolve issues and aid with other tasks.<\/p>\n<p>For example, Amazon sellers will be able to ask something like \u201cI have 300 units on the way and don\u2019t see that reflected in the report. Can someone look into this?,\u201d and they\u2019ll receive personalized guidance. If needed, they may also be connected with Amazon\u2019s support team to help them investigate the issue further, which makes the assistant sound more like a traditional chatbot, in that case.<\/p>\n<p>Further down the road, Project Amelia will be able to offer sellers \u201cadditional help managing the task\u201d or may even \u201coffer to solve the problem on a seller\u2019s behalf,\u201d Amazon says, without providing specifics or a timeframe to launch.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are always seeking to equip our selling partners with the most effective tools and capabilities, empowering them to more easily start and grow a successful business,\u201d reads\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.aboutamazon.com\/news\/innovation-at-amazon\/amazon-project-amelia\">an Amazon blog post<\/a>, penned by Mary Beth Westmoreland, VP, of Amazon\u2019s Worldwide Selling Partner Experience. \u201cBy leveraging the transformative power of generative AI, we are creating and deploying technologies that will improve how sellers can manage and grow their businesses.
