The Katsina government has donated N3.5 million to the families of seven deceased police officers killed by bandits.<\/p>\n
The police\u2019s spokesman in Katsina, ASP Abubakar Sadiq-Aliyu, disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday.<\/p>\n
He said the support was presented to the families by the deputy commissioner of police, Aminu Usman-Gusau, on behalf of the commissioner, Aliyu Abubakar-Musa.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis heartfelt gesture awarded by the Katsina state government aims to support and honour the sacrifices of these brave police officers.<\/p>\n
\u201cEach of the families was presented with the gift of N500,000 as a token of appreciation for the ultimate sacrifice made by our fallen colleagues,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
According to him, Mr Aminu-Gusau prayed for the repose of the souls of the deceased officers.<\/p>\n
He stated that the command stood in solidarity with their families and acknowledged the selfless service rendered by these brave officers.<\/p>\n
He commended Governor Dikko Radda for the gesture, adding that it demonstrated its commitment to the welfare of the families of officers.<\/p>\n
