The UN\u2019s Humanitarian Coordinator in Nigeria, Mohammed Fall, made this announcement on Tuesday, September 17, 2024.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In a joint mission over the weekend, UN agencies, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and the Nigeria Red Cross Society visited Maiduguri to assess the situation. Fall revealed that many of the affected individuals had already been displaced several times due to ongoing conflict and insecurity in the region.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We and our partners are providing hot meals and air-dropping food into hard-to-reach areas cut off by floodwaters.
