Speaking during an interview with News Central Television on Wednesday, Obi responded to reports suggesting he would accept a vice-presidential role if he found a candidate who could perform better than him.<\/p>\n
Addressing the issue on his X page on Saturday, Obi accused “fifth columnists” of spreading propaganda and distorting his statements. He clarified that he is not desperate to become president but is focused on making Nigeria work.<\/p>\n
Obi explained that during the interview, he spoke about collaboration and his openness to working with others, as long as their intentions were not centered on “state capture.” He emphasized his dedication to the Labour Party and his willingness to partner with those who share his vision for Nigeria’s progress.<\/p>\n
He further stated that he is not desperate for any political position, and if he decides to run in 2027, it will be with individuals committed to addressing issues like poverty, insecurity, and education, not merely those aiming to win an election.
