This competition is aimed at empowering young innovators to tackle Nigeria&#8217;s critical infrastructure challenges using digital tools.<\/p>\n<p>According to a statement from Hadiza Umar, Director of Corporate Affairs and External Relations at NITDA, the competition will run from September 11 to October 23, 2024, concluding with a grand finale at the International Conference Centre in Abuja on October 23.<\/p>\n<p>The challenge aligns with President Bola Tinubu\u2019s Renewed Hope Agenda and NITDA\u2019s mission to promote innovation and entrepreneurship. Participants will create digital maps of healthcare facilities, schools, roads, utilities, and public services, contributing to sustainable development and economic growth.<\/p>\n<p>The competition has three stages:<br \/>\n&#8211; State Level: Competitors from all 36 states and the FCT, with 37 teams advancing to the next round.<br \/>\n&#8211; Regional Level: 6 regional winners will emerge from the geo-political zones.<br \/>\n&#8211; National Level (Grand Finale): The final showdown will take place in Abuja, where the national winner will receive the grand prize.<\/p>\n<p>Prize Breakdown:<br \/>\n&#8211; \u20a61 Million for each of the six regional winners.<br \/>\n&#8211; \u20a65 Million grand prize for the national winner.<\/p>\n<p>Participants will focus on mapping key infrastructure such as:<br \/>\n&#8211; Public Services: Police stations, fire stations, government offices.<br \/>\n&#8211; Healthcare: Hospitals, clinics, health centres.<br \/>\n&#8211; Education: Schools, colleges, universities.<br \/>\n&#8211; Transportation: Roads, bridges, public transit.<br \/>\n&#8211; Utilities: Water supply, electricity, waste management systems.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Emmanuel Ogbodo The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), through its Office for Nigerian Digital Innovation (ONDI), has launched the 2024 Digital Nigeria Innovation Challenge.
