Didi Walson-Jack, Head of the Federation’s Civil Service, has urged for greater coordination among Federal Permanent Secretaries to hasten the implementation of the Federal Civil Service Strategy and Implementation Plan 2021-2025.<\/p>\n
According to a statement released on Monday by the Director of Press in the Office of the Federation’s Head of Civil Service, Eno Olotu, Walson-Jack emphasized at the inaugural retreat for Federal Permanent Secretaries: “This plan is not just a document, but a strategic roadmap that will shape a more efficient, accountable, and citizen-focused public service.”<\/p>\n
The retreat was conducted from September 5th to 7th, 2024, in Zuba, Niger State, with the theme “Accelerating Public Service Reforms Towards Effective Service Delivery.”<\/p>\n
Mrs Walson-Jack’s keynote address emphasized the importance of Permanent Secretaries in bridging policy formulation and execution.<\/p>\n
She asked them to connect their activities with the FCSSIP-25 objectives to ensure effective execution and adherence to good governance norms.<\/p>\n
“You are the anchors that support our governance concepts throughout the MDAs. “The trust Nigerians have placed in you reflects your dedication and responsibility,” she said.<\/p>\n
Walson-Jack praised the Permanent Secretaries for their commitment to upholding the service’s ideals and standards, and encouraged them to regard themselves as guardians of institutional knowledge, responsible for serving Nigerians with integrity and impartiality.<\/p>\n
She emphasized her commitment to assisting them by giving direction, resources, and solutions to overcome obstacles and guarantee that the civil service achieves its objectives.<\/p>\n
“We shall work together to overcome challenges and create solutions that benefit our country. You can count on my unshakable support,” she said, inspiring reassurance and trust in the audience.<\/p>\n
Mrs Walson-Jack also emphasized the need of using responsibility, meritocracy, professionalism, loyalty, and efficiency as the cornerstone for their leadership.<\/p>\n
