Hon. Ross Agazuma, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Edo State, has shared his miraculous escape from kidnappers on the Lagos-Benin highway.<\/p>\n
Agazuma, also President of Youth Leaders For African Democracy, recounted his experience to journalists in Benin. He explained that after his flight was cancelled, he chartered a vehicle to attend PDP functions in Benin and Ubiaja on August 29.<\/p>\n
However, near Ijebu-Ode, the vehicle was ambushed by armed kidnappers, who shot the driver and stole Agazuma’s valuables.<\/p>\n
Agazuma described his ordeal: “The kidnappers tried to force me into the bush, but I resisted. They threatened to shoot me, hitting me with the butt of their guns. Suddenly, I found the strength to overpower them and ran away.”<\/p>\n
Agazuma sought help from a nearby Nigerian Army patrol van, which initially mistook him for an armed robber. After clarifying his situation, the soldiers provided assistance.<\/p>\n
Agazuma expressed gratitude for his narrow escape and praised the soldiers for their timely intervention.<\/p>\n
