Conor Gallagher, a former Chelsea midfielder, has opened out about why he left the club.<\/p>\n
According to a statement issued on Friday by Fabrizio Romano’s X account, Gallagher stated that the main reason he left Chelsea was the club’s new philosophy of signing players on long contracts.<\/p>\n
“Why did Chelsea sell me?” Clubs make their own selections, and they’ve signed some excellent players to long-term contracts.<\/p>\n
“That wasn’t the situation with me but, in the end, what happened is good for everyone, so everyone is happy” , according to the Daily Mail.<\/p>\n
Recall that the London club sold Gallagher to Athletico Madrid for more than \u00a333 million earlier this summer transfer window.<\/p>\n
Gallagher has made a few appearances for Atleti and is presently training with Lee Carsley’s England team ahead of Saturday’s UEFA Nations League match against the Republic of Ireland.<\/p>\n
Speaking ahead of the game, the midfielder denied that he lacked the technical ability to play in Maresca’s system.<\/p>\n
\u201cI don\u2019t think that\u2019s true, personally, I think last season I had a good season with Chelsea and you could see by Pochettino playing me every game and showing his trust in me.<\/p>\n
