Cristiano Ronaldo has achieved yet another milestone in his illustrious career by becoming the first player ever to score 900 top-level goals. The 39-year-old star reached this impressive feat as Portugal began their Nations League campaign with a 2-1 victory over Croatia.

Ronaldo’s historic goal came in the 34th minute, as he volleyed home from close range following a precise cross from Nuno Mendes. This goal, Ronaldo’s 131st for Portugal, was particularly poignant as it marked the 20th anniversary of his debut international goal. His celebration, kneeling in heartfelt emotion, underscored the significance of the moment.

Portugal’s Diogo Dalot initially put the team ahead, but he later inadvertently scored an own goal, allowing Croatia to equalize before halftime. Despite this setback, Portugal managed to secure the win, maintaining their strong position in League A Group 1.

Ronaldo’s remarkable goal tally includes contributions from Sporting Lisbon, Manchester United, Real Madrid, Juventus, and his current club, Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia. With this victory, Portugal is currently tied at the top of their group with Poland, who secured a win against Scotland earlier in the week.
