English League One club Charlton Athletic has congratulated academy graduate Ademola Lookman on his 2024 Ballon d\u2019Or award nomination.<\/p>\n
Lookman was included in the 30-man nomination that was unveiled on Wednesday by organizers of the award France Football.<\/p>\n
The Nigerian international will compete for the award with football stars like Kylian Mbappe, Jude Bellingham, Vinicius Junior, Harry Kane, Bukayo Saka, and Nico Williams, among others.
\nReacting to Lookman\u2019s nomination, Charlton wrote on their X handle:\u201dAcademy graduate Ademola Lookman has been nominated for the 2024 @BallondOr!<\/p>\n

\nLookman was Atalanta\u2019s most impressive player last season as he helped them to the Europa League and Coppa Italia finals.<\/p>\n
After losing 1-0 to Juventus in the Coppa Italia final, Atalanta thrashed Bayer Leverkusen 3-0 in the Europa League final.<\/p>\n
Lookman bagged the three goals for Atalanta, becoming the first-ever player to achieve the feat in the history of the competition.
\nLookman joined Charlton Athletic\u2019s academy in 2014 after signing from Waterloo, a youth football club based in the London Borough of Lambeth.<\/p>\n
His goalscoring record for Charlton\u2019s U18 and U21 teams led to him making a rapid ascent through the Charlton academy ranks and he made his first-team debut for them on 3 November 2015.
\nHe scored his first goal for the club in a 3\u20132 defeat at Brighton & Hove Albion on 5 December 2015, and then followed that up with both Charlton\u2019s goals in a 2\u20132 draw with Bolton Wanderers ten days later.<\/p>\n
He signed a four-and-a-half-year contract with Everton on 5 January 2017 and made his debut for the club ten days later in a 4\u20130 victory over Manchester City, replacing Ross Barkley in the 90th minute and scoring the team\u2019s fourth goal.<\/p>\n
