The Nasarawa State government has launched a training program for 50 auto-technicians on converting petroleum vehicles to Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) and Compressed Natural Gas (CNG).<\/p>\n
Director General of the Nasarawa State Human Capital Development Agency, Habiba Balarabe-Suleiman, disclosed that the training will take place at Peugeot Automobile Nigeria (PAN) Limited in Kaduna State.<\/p>\n
The initiative aims to promote sustainable energy alternatives, reducing fuel costs and contributing to environmental conservation.<\/p>\n
The beneficiaries, members of the Nigerian Automobile Technicians Association, were selected from across the state for the 5-day workshop.<\/p>\n
This training aligns with President Bola Tinubu’s Presidential Compressed Natural Gas Initiative (PCNGI), launched in August 2023, to ease the impact of fuel subsidy removal and reduce energy costs.<\/p>\n
The PCNGI targets 11,500 new CNG-enabled vehicles and 55,000 CNG conversion kits for existing vehicles, promoting in-country manufacturing, local assembly, and job creation.<\/p>\n
Balarabe-Suleiman explained that the training supports President Tinubu’s agenda to revolutionize the transportation system using alternative and clean energy sources.<\/p>\n
The state government provided stipends, accommodation, and transportation for participants, with a graduation ceremony scheduled for Saturday, where Governor Abdullahi Sule will present certificates.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
