Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi Sule has dismissed criticism over his recent visit to the All Progressives Congress (APC) national secretariat, blaming party enemies seeking to destabilize it.<\/p>\n
Sule, chairman of the APC North Central Governors’ Forum, clarified that his visit was not an endorsement of national chairman Abdullahi Ganduje, but rather a response to Ganduje’s invitation to discuss resolving the party crisis in Benue State.<\/p>\n
The governor’s special adviser on Political Affairs, Dr. Kassim Muh’d Kassim, stated that governors have unfettered access to the party’s national secretariat and its leadership.<\/p>\n
A group, the “North Central All Progressives Congress (APC) Forum,” and its chairman, Saleh Zazzaga, had accused Sule of undermining the North Central’s chance to retake the party’s national chairmanship seat.<\/p>\n
However, Sule’s camp described the criticism as mischievous and detrimental to party unity, particularly ahead of the Edo and Ondo governorship elections.<\/p>\n
The governor emphasized the need for stakeholders to unite and support Ganduje in delivering the two states for the party.<\/p>\n
Sule questioned the motives of Zazzaga and his sponsors, suggesting they do not have the party’s best interests at heart and may be working to undermine its chances in the upcoming elections, while calling for an investigation to unmask those using Zazzaga to further destabilize the party.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
